Saturday Status 10/13/12

Well, here we are, mid-October already. I guess if I only post once per week the weeks seem to go faster. So far, not enough snow to actually shovel, so I’m still in denial about winter coming. Also, October is the best month for baseball! And my favorite player Derek Jeter is in the post season looking as sexy as ever sigh swoon They just won the division series, so bring on the championship!

Favorite Song of the Week ~ I couldn’t help it.

Work in Progress News ~ I changed the starting point of this wip three times. Finally I got one that’s perfect. I can always tell when it’s right when the words just flow. Now I’m just hoping the flow keeps flowing.

Backlist News ~ All my titles (except At Ease, but that’s the publisher’s choice) are available at iTunes again! Company Ink got a new cover to commemorate the occasion. What do you think? Subtly sexy. Thanks, Booknibbles!

Industry News ~ You’ve heard of Spotify, a subscription service for music? Well, what do you think about the same concept, but for books? Personally, I’d be all over it. All you can read for one monthly price. I’ll be keeping my eye on this company: Oyster

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary this week! Just the usual folks looking for my books for free. Which reminds me of a tweet an author sent out some time ago, but for the life of me I can’t dig it up so I’ll paraphrase: “It takes a barista 3 minutes to make our $6 cup of coffee and we tip him. It takes an author over a year to write a book and we balk at paying $4.99.” Deep thoughts.

What I’m reading ~ Dreamspinner Press keeps putting their titles up for free for one hour only. I was lucky enough to catch the tweet that announced Heart’s Home. I do love shifters and historical m/m, so I snatched it up. I’m not finished with it, but so far I’m liking it. Great dialogue and I love how the MCs have their own voices.

Hero Quote ~ Are you guys sick of reading my hero quotes? Should I switch to heroine quotes? Bad guy quotes?  Let me know. For now, here’s one from Cody in Wyoming Solace:

“I know it’s wrong. You’ve been hurt, and you probably don’t want to have anything to do with…a man. God help me, it doesn’t stop me from wanting you. But I swear I’d never do anything to hurt you.”

Okay, now  I’m going to get back to writing. Have a great weekend and week!

Saturday Status 10/6/12

Well, that’s it. Snow’s in the forecast.  I guess I should just be happy, I mean this summer’s wildfires were a direct result of the dry winter last year, so perhaps it’s a good thing. I’ll take up complaining about wind instead. Just kidding, I’d never shut up.

Favorite Song of the Week ~ This should bring back some memories. It’s nice to hear some music played by…yanno… musical instruments and stuff.

Work in Progress News ~ Every week I write this section, I’m embarrassed by the lack of productivity and I swear to do better the following week. This is why I don’t announce my word counts. I’m plugging away though. I actually bought some promotional materials for Rising Heat. So now I really have to finish this before the end of the year. I can do it!

Backlist News ~ Storyfinds is featuring my free reads on their site! Looks pretty good there, huh? Also, I’ve pulled a few books from Apple iTunes, but I’m working on getting them back up as soon as possible. If you’re an iOS user and are looking for For a Price, Cover Story, or Company Ink, rest assured they’ll be back up shortly. Until then you can find a DRM free epub version for your iProduct at Smashwords or Barnes and Noble.

Industry News ~ Speaking of Barnes and Noble, this week they  announced their partnership with Microsoft. It looks like a college textbook type of LLC. I hope someone gets deep into the digital textbook market! Those suckers are heavy! [source]

What I’m reading ~ So I caved, and bought a Kindle Paperwhite. I. Love. It. Very similar to my Kindle Touch, so there wasn’t much of a learning curve. Anyway, I tried it out on quite a few books lol. I also started one that was so bad that I didn’t finish (and that’s saying something, I’m a compulsive finisher) so I won’t mention that one. So instead I leave you with this YA by a very talented author with some great blood running through her veins (she’s my cousin) Amy Kathleen Ryan (yes, I did just drop her name) If you like Hunger Games, you’ll love this book (series) and so will your teen. It’s been very well reviewed. (I just set the record for the most parentheses in one blog post I think.)

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ There are two good ones this week. This one: “tempting tessa dirty?” (the answer is yes…kinda) and one that introduces a new word into my vocabulary because I think it’s awesome: “olivia eurotic” Eurotic! Isn’t that great? Now I’m going to write an erotic story about Europeans. Typos for the win.

Hero Quote ~ From Jake in the free read Treat, the prequel to Retreat:

I can go slow.” He slid one hand around her waist, the other up her arm and around her neck. “Or I can pick up the pace just a bit to get just where I want to be. Christ, Andi. I want to kiss the hell out of you right now.”

Well? Think there was any hell left in Andi when he got done with her? Click the cover to download the story for free and find out.

Saturday Status 9/29/12

Well, what do you think? Websites are redesigned. Now Olivia and Alanna share a blog, which cuts down on my blogging time by half! Also removed several pages from Alanna’s site which were just sitting there, often duplicating information. Please look around, any input is helpful! I know this water map has nothing to do with my post, but I wanted to share it.

Favorite Song of the Week ~ Usher. ‘Nuff said. Not sure why there’s not a real video for this but enjoy staring at his face for a few minutes.

Work in Progress News ~ Don’t hate me, but I’ve been working on a different wip this week. Sometimes just a few days away from a work helps me get back into the groove. I got a few pages on my work that doesn’t even have a hero name yet (it’s a story featuring a sexy pilot, so I call it…um…Pilot.) This will just be a short (12–18K) story for Olivia’s “men in uniform” line.

Backlist News ~ At Ease ended up a finalist at the Swirl Awards in the Novella category! With the awesome books At Ease was up against, I’m very pleased at its placement. Check out the other interracial books that the Swirl Awards recognized at their Website.

Industry News ~ Barnes and Noble announced two new tablets. The promotional video makes them look really good! I might be swayed by the epic music though. Price is right, so I’m hoping thousands more people will jump on the ebook bandwagon!

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ Well this is new. “naked women tree” I’m pretty sure that search found this picture that I’ve posted before.

What I’m reading ~ I read Out of Focus, a book about an established dom couple looking for a sub third. I loved the way L.A. Witt handled the inevitable feelings of all three. Each chapter was written in first person, from differing main characters. An interesting way to handle POV.

Hero Quote ~ From Josh in Tempting Tessa, my free read prequel to Tessa’s Pride:

I know you want me, Tessa. I’ve seen the lust behind your eyes. Don’t deny it. Each time I caught that look, you’d turn away. If you had kept looking, you would have seen the same lust in mine.”

Tessa’s busted! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week

Saturday Status 9/22/12

Howdy! Fall is here whether I like it or not. I’ve been wearing a fuzzy fleece jacket all week to write. Trees are beginning to change color, which is good because we usually get a freeze before we get any colors. Baseball is wrapping up (Go Yankees!) and Football is breathing new life into my little college town.  It’s all good, but I’d still prefer a three season summer.

Favorite Song of the Week ~ I just learned that the Pet Shop Boys released a new album! So I go on the lookout for one to share with you here, and find this video. A great expression of inclusion and acceptance. Winner.

Work in Progress News ~ Plugging away on Dean. I also have a tentative title, which is pretty big news. I usually don’t get one until I’m done with the book! Since the book is about an ex-cop, and to go with Falling Star, I came up with Rising Heat. What do you think?

Backlist News ~ Speaking of, Falling Star got a new review last week. Ana’s Attic said: “I have read so many good “rock star” romances this summer, and this ranks way up there on my good list. I read it in one day, and didn’t want to put it down.” 4.5 stars.

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ This one: “kale and alexa o brien” is obviously from when I talked about my friend Trina M. Lee’s urban fantasy Alexa O’Brien Huntress series. I’ve made it no secret that Kale is my favorite character.

What I’m reading ~ I waited so long for Sandra Brown’s new book. Usually I tear right through them, then turn around and re-read it. This time I stretched it out for almost two full days. Low Pressure is just what I expect from this author. Great cast of characters and twists galore. Sigh. Now I have to wait for her next one. Write faster, Sandra!!

Hero Quote ~ Jake, from Retreat:

You come near me, and I forget every restriction I’ve forced on myself.”

I think that’s called Propinquital Amnesia.  (I just made that up, but it sounds pretty good, yeah?)

Back to work for me. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Saturday Status 9/15/12

It’s the middle of September. Do you know where your summer went?

Favorite Song of the Week ~ I’ve had this song stuck in my head for three days, so I’ll post it here in hopes of sharing the earworm.

Okay, as usual, the first time I see the official video is when I post it here. I’m too much of a romantic to say I liked that one. Sorry guys.

Work in Progress News ~ Ugh. No news. I worked a lot at the part time job the last two weeks, I don’t think I’ve written a word in days. When I’m away from my wip, I feel guilty, like I’m cheating. Next week will see my new refocus strategy.

Industry News ~ I’ve mentioned the Espresso Book Machine (EBM) before, and what impact I think it might have on the book industry. This week, On Demand, the makers of the EBM, announced they’ve partnered with Eastman Kodak, and the company’s POD technology will be made available to retailers who have Kodak Picture Kiosks, including drugstores and supermarkets. [Source] This is big, guys. Imagine being able to pick up a freshly printed book at your friendly one hour photo. While you wait. I’m so glad I live in this decade!

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ “erotic twit”. No, I’m serious. That found me. ME! I’m not a twit, people!

What I’m reading ~ Am I the only one who prepares for a favorite author’s new release by re-reading his/her backlist? This past week I re-read one of my favorite Sandra Brown books because I simply cannot wait until Tuesday, when her new one comes out. Play Dirty is a really good romantic suspense that has several twists, which I’m very fond of.

Hero Quote ~ Trevor, from PreView:

“You know, the only way to prove you’re for real is wait and see if Victoria dies. I’m not willing to do that.

That’s all I’ve got for you this week. Everyone have a great weekend!

Saturday Status 9/8/12

Welcome! The bite of autumn is in the air. I’m not very happy. I’m hoping for another warm stretch before the snow flies.

Favorite Song of the Week ~ In direct contrast to last week’s song, I give you Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.  If you don’t yet know, Taylor is known for writing breakup songs after splitting with her famous boyfriends. This one is reportedly about Jake Gyllenhaal.  It was filmed with one camera in one take, so keep that in mind:  I love it, but what’s with her band wearing Furry costumes?

Work in Progress News ~ I moved a few scenes around on Dean’s story. I think I tried to add too many dramatic scenes in a row, and they started to clash. Not much word count this week, I’ve been busy with the part time job. Let’s hope the stars align next week!

Backlist News ~ Did you know that you can buy one of my paperback books, and get an ebook version free? Details are at Dark Mountain Books.

Industry News ~ Big news from Amazon, as they announced what I hinted at last week. Kindle Paperwhite will be available soon for $119, and they’re also showing off two new Kindle Fire models. Kobo also announced new ereaders, including a backlighted device, and a tablet. Isn’t this an exciting time to be a reader? Also big news in the DOJ Ebook Settlement. A judge has approved the settlement, so now three US publishers will have to negotiate new contracts with e‑book retailers, giving them the power to discount at will. Will be interesting to see how this plays out

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ This week it was “tall josephine sexy”. I can usually figure out why terms found me, but that one stumped me.

Hero Quote ~ Marcus, from Position Secured:

It was damn hard to concentrate on that perp when I knew you were there. I don’t know how many times I wondered if you were naked under that robe before I focused on my job.”

Like the cinecover? Pretty cool, huh? Thanks to Booknibbles for animating all my covers.

What I’m reading ~
No time for anything new this week, so I’ve been re-reading some of my favorites. This one, Envy, is one of my favorites from my favorite author. So many twists in this romantic suspense that I couldn’t put it down if I wanted to.

Saturday Status 9/1/12

Woah. September already. Can you believe it? Labor Day here in the states. I took this picture during this week’s camping trip. I had fun, but there’s a species of bird (or frog, I’m not exactly sure) that sounds just like a human whistling. That kept my dog alert all night long, which in turn kept me awake.  Also, sleeping on the ground is best left to those under twenty.

Favorite Song of the Week ~  I can’t get this out of my head. Though I’m on HIS side, I get a kick out of her frustrated grunt.

This says US version. I wonder what the rest of the world gets!? I can’t find anything else.

Work in Progress News ~ Working away on Dean. I think I’ll get a lot more done starting next week when the kids go back to school. At least that’s the plan.

Industry News ~ Several articles popped up this week regarding authors buying reviews. A certain author (the first self published author to sell a million Kindle books) admits to shelling out several thousand dollars for positive reviews. Not only do I find the practice immoral and deceitful, I also don’t have that kind of money. So you can rest assured that all reviews on my books are legit. In other news, just when you thought you had the latest and greatest in ereaders, this gets leaked: Kindle Paperwhite, (or something) a Kindle with backlight! Looks pretty darn cool.

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ I have two interesting terms this week. “kz sxsy tender” and “hairy brynn”. I love you, Internet!

What I’m reading ~ I love everything that Vivien Dean writes, so when I saw one I hadn’t read popped up, I grabbed it and devoured it in one night. Price of a Tattooed Soul  is a time travel story, so it has the best of contemporary and historical, with a great plot and great cover (sorry, wordpress freaked on me, I can’t seem to post it, but click on over to see.)

Hero Quote ~ From Eric, the firefighting hero in Last Call:

There’s a sexy-as-hell woman offering herself to me. Of course I want to. Especially if it will help rebuild her ego. I’m sworn to serve the citizens of this city, you know.”

Well that’s it for me. You all have a great day, and for all my fellow US folks, have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Saturday Status 8/25/12

Hey guys! It’s the last week of summer here, kids are so excited to get back to school. I’m planning one last hurrah, taking them camping. That means all the s’mores I can eat, then sleep on the ground and dream of all the bugs that can get inside the tent. Fun!

Favorite Song of the Week ~ Né-Yo is pretty much brilliant. He writes all his own music and lyrics, along with writing hits for several other artists. The video? Not sure how I feel about it, other than to think that that woman is gorgeous! See for yourself. Don’t miss the end:

Work in Progress News ~ Plugging away on Dean. I discovered the antagonist’s motivation. What a weirdo! I was going to leave word counts here, but I might be totally embarrassed at my lack of productivity. Then again, it might spur me into actually buckling down and getting something done. I’ll think about it.

Backlist News ~ Company Ink was reviewed at Pearl’s World of Romance. I appreciate Pearl for taking self published works for review. Some don’t, especially short stories.  Here’s what she thinks: Pretty cool little pic there, huh? Click it to head over to Pearl’s World. She does a great job reviewing. Thanks, Pearl!

Industry News ~ It looks like Barnes and Noble is going to the UK, and Amazon is headed to India! The more the merrier, I say. Amazon also offered to pay me in Indian Rupees. I’ll have to keep that in mind.

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ This one cracked me up: “she riped and she roared”. Oooh kaaay.

What I’m reading ~ All right, I never thought reviews would sell me a book, but that’s exactly what happened here. From folks at Goodreads to those on Amazon (click the cover). It’s an older book, I’m just late to the party. I just hope that all the 50 Shades fans find well written books like this after the craze wears down.

Hero Quote ~ from Nick Webster, from For a Price:

Just know that I’m happy simply holding you like this. Don’t feel like you have to do anything else. I don’t want you to worry tonight, or whenever you’re with me. I’ll never force you to give more than you’re willing to share, and I’ll never be disappointed. Understand?”

What a guy, huh? Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week!

Saturday Status 8/18/12

Howdy! Welcome! I’m right in the middle of a blog hop this weekend, so check it out by clicking the banner. It’s a lot of fun, and there are a ton of prizes up for grabs.

Favorite Song of the Week ~ I’ve been trying really hard to focus on my work this week, so I’ve been listening to a lot of classical. This might be one of my favorites by Ludwig Minkus, Don Quixote. I found one where Mikhail Baryshnikov headlined the ballet. You’re welcome.

Work in Progress News ~ I’ve put a few K into Dean. The hero Lance is an ex cop, and I’m struggling with his personality. Or maybe he’s struggling with mine. At this point I can’t tell. I just keep plugging away.

Backlist News ~ There’s a new site that allows me to sell my books directly on my site! It’s called Gumroad. Check it out! —> Fine Print I put a buy link for each of Alanna’s books and Olivia’s books on the buy pages. Pretty cool! Also, for you Kobo customers, I’m now using Kobo’s direct to customer program Kobo Writing Life for my qualifying titles.

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ I found one that was pretty interesting. It showed up before as well, and I commented on it in a previous status post. This time I actually Googled the term, and I found what they were looking for. It’s NSFW. Also, I don’t drive naked. That’s dangerous in Wyoming weather.

What I’m reading ~ I can’t remember why I picked up Reckless (Nashville Nights #4) by Cheryl Douglas, but I’m glad I did. This has a classic romance feel to it, with the hero Ty being the one who fell for the heroine Avery, and he had to fight to win her. Maybe I just enjoy seeing a big strong cowboy on his knees.

Hero Quote ~ From Carter, a hero in Flipped.

Shh. Don’t say a thing. If you start talking too much like you always do, then I’ll start thinking too much like I always do. No talking.”

Okay folks. Now head on over to the JustRomance.Me blog hop and get yourself entered to win a prize or two. We’ll be rehashing the hop on Sunday night at 7pm EST over at Gem Sivad’s Chat Room. I’d love to see you there! Mention this post and I’ll throw in a free backlist book.

Love’s a Beach Blog Hop

Welcome! It’s another wonderful guided tour through the Romancelandia Blogosphere (Can I use two fake words in a row like that?) If you’re just happening by, just click on that banner above, it will take you to the beginning of the hop (or wherever you left off) I can practically feel summer slipping away from me! It’s depressing.

I started writing an original scene for this hop, and realized that it’s probably a story best told in novel form, so guess what? Another work in progress for me. Instead I’m sharing an excerpt from my book Fine Print, where Derek takes Kara to Cancun Mexico for a “totally platonic” weekend. Here they’re lounging on deck chairs on the beach, and he’s just asked her about her husband who’d passed away two years earlier:

Take a close look at that cover. Booknibbles turned it into a cinemagraph. Pretty cool huh?

Okay, keep on hopping! There is so much to see. We’ll be drawing winners and rehashing the hop over at Gem Sivad’s place on Sunday at 7pm EST. I hope to see you there!

Love’s a Beach Blog Hop

Welcome! It’s JustRomance.Me blog hop time again. If you’re just happening along this post, and would like to join in the fun, just click that banner and you can start at the beginning. We have lots of prizes up for grabs.

Okay, so living on top of a mountain in the middle of the continent, there aren’t many beaches around here. The lakes we do have are lined with boulders, not nice soft sand. So when I think of a beach, I have to rely on Hollywood. So for your pleasure, I’ve compiled short clips of the top five (in my opinion) best beach scenes ever filmed.

Number Five: The little Mermaid. I wish I could have found a clip of the scene where she walks out of the sea on two legs in a shimmering blue dress, but I do like the way this guy mixed it up:

Number Four: Dudley Moore running toward his dream girl Bo Derek in the movie “10″

Number Three: The Blue Lagoon. Just try to forget that they’re cousins.

Number Two: The beginning scene in Grease. These two certainly don’t look 17 to me…

Number One: The most famous beach kiss, from the movie From Here to Eternity.

Sexy, yes, but all I can think of is the sand getting into places I don’t want it getting into. That’s just me.

I hope you’re enjoying your hop through the web. Good luck in the drawing, and feel free to pick up my Free Read.

We’ll be chatting at Gem Sivad’s place on Sunday night. That’s where we announce the winners live, so please join us!

Saturday Status 8/11/12

Happy Saturday! Like many throughout the nation and world, I spent Sunday night glued to my computer watching NASA’s Rover Curiosity’s successful landing on Mars. I got goosebumps. I hope my British readers aren’t offended by this picture. I just had to. I mean, look at the Eagle’s expression!

Favorite Song of the Week ~ Bad Lip Reading just gets better and better. They covered Coldplay’s  In My Place. Renamed it Yeti. I’d love to see a behind-the-scenes video for BLR.

Work in Progress News ~ Wrote a few K into Dean’s story, the second in the Earth Scents series. I’m a little worried about following a m/f book with an m/m book. If I have any reader opinions, I’d love to hear them. Otherwise, I’m just chugging away. Dean’s story will be written either way I guess.

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ This week, I found this partial phrase: “her hands moved lower”. I always wonder if these are things I typed in previous flash fiction stories? Those four words must have struck a chord somewhere somehow.

What I’m reading ~ I don’t remember why I picked this one up. Sure, Jennifer Probst is a bestseller and all, but I’m usually not swayed by that. The Marriage Bargain is a contemporary novella, with a whole lot of 80s Harlequin flare. We have a billionaire, a struggling working class girl, an arranged marriage, and even a sneaky dead uncle’s will. I admit, I loved it. Snappy dialogue, and excellent writing. Entangled Publishing is on my short list of potential publishers.

Hero Quote ~ From Derek in Fine Print. This is where he changes the rules on poor Kara.

”If you really wanted to have a sterile conception, you would have gone to a sterile sperm bank, and picked one of the sterile vials of sperm, with no strings attached. This way, we’re skipping the middle man. We can bypass the lab and maybe even enjoy ourselves a little bit in the process.”

Kara handles it pretty well though. Okay folks. Time to get back to it. Have a great week!

Hello! It’s August already! This summer is going wwaaay too quickly. Here’s what I’ve been up to all week:

Favorite Song of the Week ~ This is Krizz Kaliko featuring Rittz and Chamillionaire. Not sure why I can’t get enough of this song. I don’t even know the words. Yet.

Work in Progress News ~ I’ve been piddling away on this pilot short story, but this week’s search terms are steering me in a different direction. Lots of queries for the second Earth Scents book, so really, I should write that! So that’s my focus for next week.

Industry News ~ Last week at the National Romance Writers of America conference, the highest honor bestowed on a book from the RWA, the RITA award was announced. This year for the first time ever, the RITA was bestowed on a digital first book. In fact, this is the first year that any digital book won a RITA. Congratulations to Fiona Lowe, her editor Charlotte Herscher, and her (and my!!) publisher Carina Press.

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ I don’t know who this is, but she’s got a cool name: “alanna romance writer wayne nj”. Sorry you won’t find her here though.

What I’m reading ~ Long awaited, and worth every minute. A Younger Man by Cameron Dane. As I linked to Amazon just now, I read the one review there. I totally agree with everything that reviewer says, so if you’d like my thoughts, she put them succinctly.

Hero Quote ~ From Adam in Falling Star:

No. I’m not going to feel you up in the fucking back alley. I’m going to control myself, even if it kills me.”

Language, Adam! My my. Okay folks, have a great weekend!

It’s the end of July, and the beginning of the Olympics in London! Can you believe my RT roomie Dee Carney is THERE!? I keep scanning the stadium seats for a glimpse of her. I’m so jealous.

Favorite Song of the Week ~ Survival, the official song of the 2012 Olympics by Muse. What do you think? Wondering why they didn’t play this song once during the opening ceremonies? I can’t answer that.

Work in Progress News ~ After finishing my Wyoming Solace Galleys (it will be released in print on May 7, 2013!) I opened the pilot wip. I know what you’re thinking, and you’re right. So I started all over. I think this one will stick. Stay tuned.

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ Nothing exciting this week, but looking at what found me, I would like to mention that there’s a difference between “erotica” and “erotic romance”.  Olivia writes erotic romance, but neither of us writes erotica. Just thought I’d help out there.

What I’m reading ~ One of my top five fave authors of all time has a new book coming out Monday. I’ve been getting ready for it by reading books one and two in the series. Grey’s Awakening is book two. I just love the emotion that Cameron Dane puts in every book she writes.

Hero Quote ~ From Bo, the cover model hero in Cover Story:

Don’t be afraid of the camera. I’m going to do my best to make you forget that it’s there.”

On Wednesday, you’ll find a family favorite recipe I posted for the RomanceCooks website. Be sure to check that site out, it’s got yummy treats and great book info.

Enjoy the Olympics, and have a great week!

Howdy! This week in Wyoming we celebrate our statehood. Wyoming is 122 years old this month! We like to celebrate this with carnivals, street dances, and of course–rodeos! It’s a buckle bunny’s paradise here. This picture was taken by my young niece as she sat in the stands at the Laramie Jubilee Days Rodeo two years ago. Good, huh?

Favorite Song of the Week ~ Ladysmith Black Mambazo, made famous via Paul Simon in the 80s cameoed on Sesame Street as muppets, but their sound is intact. The alphabet never sounded so cool:

Work in Progress News ~ Thanks to some Twitter prodding, I joined in a #1K1hr. And while I didn’t get to a K, I did get some words down on Dean for the first time in what feels like forever. I’m also still working on my galleys for Wyoming Solace. When does school start again?

Backlist News ~ I noticed that my book Company Ink is sitting all lonely on Amazon without any reviews. So I’m offering it up to anyone who’d like to read it in exchange for an honest review posted on Amazon or anywhere else. Holler if you want to give it a try! olivia @ oliviabrynn.com

Industry News ~ Ok, it’s stretching a bit to use this as industry news, but what could I do with this technology and a romance cover? Wheels are turning…

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ I didn’t catch this one in time to find out where this term took this Googler: “coco lip lock”

What I’m reading ~ I woke up way too early one day, and couldn’t bring myself to get out of bed. I found this book close by, so I re-read parts. Ended up spending much too long reading without my contacts in. It’s worth it. Linda Howard is in my top five fave authors, and this historical western is one reason why. Drama, romance, and great characters.

Hero Quote ~ from Tyler in At Ease:

I can’t get enough of you, girl. Did you dab some crack behind your ears or something?”

Have a great weekend, everyone!
