Welcome back! I’m doing two SSS posts today, be sure to check out my Alter Ego Olivia Brynn’s blog, showcasing six sentences from tomorrow’s release Tessa’s Pride!
But while you’re here, I’ve got six more from my untitled WiP, picking up where we left off last week.
She didn’t hear the distinct hissing sound of air, so the knife hadn’t punctured a lung. She took a deep breath, but steadied herself when the wound on her abdomen flared painfully. She could have a punctured colon. Maybe her diaphragm, possibly her liver. She pinched her eyes closed. She did not want to think about the patient she’d lost during her ER rounds with similar injuries.
That’s it this week! Check out all the other millions of SSSers at the Official Website.
Uh-oh! What happened?! I need to know more!
She’s definitely in trouble!
I love how she’s thinking like a doctor here! Me, I’d be panicking.
I like that she is rationalizing this, I want to read more.
Since I read this and didn’t miss a beat, picking up the scene from last week, my conclusion is that you have a strong story going here. I love her medical-professional stoicism.
Great six! The more I read of this story, the more I want to read. 🙂
I’m still amazed at how clear-headed she is in this situation. Love her.
Love the extra twist that last line adds.
I still love the medical details and how it shows her thought process. More, please.
This gets more intense every week!
Oh, wow! Hope she gets help soon.
Somebody call 911 for Christ’s sake.
Very good snippet!
good character development, strong character. i’d be crazy with panic
Oh noes!
Woah! I really like how her previous medical experience informs the way she reacts to a scary situation.
Very cool-headed, this one! But ouch! 🙁
I like her thought process. I’d never be that logical.
No! It keeps getting worse. She’s still impressively clear-headed.
Very intriguing six!
Wow, a twofer!
She’s such a doctor. I wouldn’t be thinking of anything at all. Just screaming my damn head off!
Wow, that would be a sobering thought. Calm and controlled but maybe with a bit of worry about karma there? She loses a patient and then faces the same threat herself. Cosmic paybacks are hell.
I’ll hop over to check your alter ego six now. 🙂
Ewww! Love how she can be so analytical over her possible demise!
Excellent character-in-crisis situation. Not surprised that a doc would think clearly in extremis, but still worried about her! Great suspense!
And now I know. She got stabbed.
Owie! So how the hero’s going to swoop in and find her half dead? Right? Right?
This is getting creepy! Where’s help? Eeep!
Ack!! This is one lady in distress. Time for the hero to ride in on his white horse, or in his White SUV, or his Beamer, or his Harley.…. he just needs to ride!
I don’t want to think about the patients she’s lost from similar wounds either! Eeeek
