Happy Saturday! I hope yours started better than mine, I woke up to the first snowfall of the season. Ugh. Just think, last week I was sitting on my porch in shorts. At least it waited until October this year, I really shouldn’t complain, but I’m going to anyway. I’m not leaving the house.
Work in Progress News ~ Well, I finished reworking my backlist, they’re all back up for Kindle, Nook, and coming soon to iTunes etc. While I wait for the first round of edits for Olivia’s Last Call, I realized that I could actually write something new. It took a few hours to get used to the idea, and after looking through all twelve of my works in progress, I started picking at one. The next day I decided to take that original idea and tweak it a little bit, so guess what I did? Yep. Started number 13. Well, more like 12.5, because I might be able to merge the original and this new one. We’ll see. Such are the joys of pantsing.
Industry News ~ Autography is out! Looks like a great app for authors to take their iPads to book signings. This has been in development since May, and it’s finally available to the public.Kind of. So far it’s just for the iPad, and it looks like you’ll have to buy the book through the Autography store (which I’m unable to find a link for) and there’s no word on cost or availability. Okay, let’s call this a Pseudo-launch, and I’ll be pseudo-excited since I won’t be able to use it quite yet, but let’s hope there are some developers out there who want to share the love with the rest of us. I’m all signed up for Authorgraph, and maybe I can figure out a way to use my tablet and stylus to sign a book…hmm.…
Real Life News ~ Well, the Yankees didn’t win the ALDS, so you won’t have to hear me go on about baseball until next year. Also, like I said earlier, it’s snowing, so get ready for some big whiny posts where I wonder why I live on top of this mountain. I did get a chance to read a couple of great books this week. Intimate Whispers by Dee Carney just came out, and I really liked it. I also have Sandra Brown’s Lethal on my desk taunting me. I haven’t read a hardcover book in so long, I have a feeling I’ll try pushing invisible buttons to turn the page.
Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ This week’s is a classic. “someone getting distracted” found Olivia’s site. I must have mentioned my lack of focus over there once or twice.
Hero Quote ~ From Olivia’s recently contracted book Flipped, a quote from Mario Gutierrez:
“You’re my best friend. You can tell me to leave. Just say the word and I’ll go downstairs and we’ll forget I ever opened that door. We can blame the liquor. Or God please tell me it’s okay. Tell me you want this too, and let me kiss you.”
Favorite Song of the Week ~ Â OK Go has some awesome videos. This isn’t their latest, but I think it’s their greatest. Enjoy This Too Shall Pass, the Rube Goldberg Version.
They had to do that all in one take. I’m sure it took more than one try, but that’s simply amazing. I love OK Go.
Okay, that’s it for me. Back to my snowy work in progress. I guess I’ll thank Mother Nature for providing the atmosphere.
