Hello! It’s August already! This summer is going wwaaay too quickly. Here’s what I’ve been up to all week:

Favorite Song of the Week ~ This is Krizz Kaliko featuring Rittz and Chamillionaire. Not sure why I can’t get enough of this song. I don’t even know the words. Yet.

Work in Progress News ~ I’ve been piddling away on this pilot short story, but this week’s search terms are steering me in a different direction. Lots of queries for the second Earth Scents book, so really, I should write that! So that’s my focus for next week.

Industry News ~ Last week at the National Romance Writers of America conference, the highest honor bestowed on a book from the RWA, the RITA award was announced. This year for the first time ever, the RITA was bestowed on a digital first book. In fact, this is the first year that any digital book won a RITA. Congratulations to Fiona Lowe, her editor Charlotte Herscher, and her (and my!!) publisher Carina Press.

Search Term of the week aka How People Found My Websites ~ I don’t know who this is, but she’s got a cool name: “alanna romance writer wayne nj”. Sorry you won’t find her here though.

What I’m reading ~ Long awaited, and worth every minute. A Younger Man by Cameron Dane. As I linked to Amazon just now, I read the one review there. I totally agree with everything that reviewer says, so if you’d like my thoughts, she put them succinctly.

Hero Quote ~ From Adam in Falling Star:

“No. I’m not going to feel you up in the fucking back alley. I’m going to control myself, even if it kills me.”

Language, Adam! My my. Okay folks, have a great weekend!
