<\/a>Look who\u2019s made the long trip to my blog for a vis\u00adit! It\u2019s Chasti\u00adty Bush, the para\u00adnor\u00admal erot\u00adic romance author! We sat down over a cup\u00adpa to dis\u00adcuss writ\u00ading, life, and a bunch of nonsense.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So Chasti\u00adty, do you remem\u00adber the first romance nov\u00adel you ever read?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first romance nov\u00adel I remem\u00adber read\u00ading was For the Ros\u00ades by Julie Garwood.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve heard won\u00adder\u00adful things about that book, but haven\u2019t picked it up yet. Did you like it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always been a fan of west\u00aderns and this one was right up my alley. I stopped read\u00ading for a long time after I had our daugh\u00adters until one day I picked up A Reck\u00adless Beau\u00adty by Kasey Michaels and fell in love with read\u00ading all over again. Now, I always have a book in my hand.<\/p>\n

Oh me too. eyes my Kin\u00addle with\u00adin grab\u00adbing dis\u00adtance<\/em> And you know how good it is for kids to see their par\u00adents read. (Thanks, Mom!) I write on my din\u00ading room table. If I serve some\u00adthing messy for din\u00adner, I\u2019ll actu\u00adal\u00adly fold up my lap\u00adtop and put it away for an hour. What about you?\u00c2 <\/strong><\/p>\n

At the moment I use a lap\u00adtop, so I can plant myself any\u00adwhere and type what\u00adev\u00ader pops into my lit\u00adtle head.<\/p>\n

Oh. Maybe I should try mov\u00ading around. My bed is way too com\u00adfort\u00adable, I end up nap\u00adping. Any\u00adthing you can\u2019t live with\u00adout when writing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hard can\u00addy. I absolute\u00adly have to have cin\u00adna\u00admon hard can\u00addy while I write. I\u2019m a com\u00adplete addict.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Mine is music. Though late\u00adly I\u2019m won\u00adder\u00ading if it hurts my word count when I sing and dance along. Do you lis\u00adten to music when you write?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some\u00adtimes. I love old\u00ader music like The Clash, The Kinks, and The Ramones. But I also like new\u00ader music like Kings of Leon, Shine\u00addown, Cage the Ele\u00adphant, etc. Pret\u00adty much any\u00adthing on the radio is fine with me as long as there\u2019s some noise in the back\u00adground, I\u2019m good.<\/p>\n

I sup\u00adpose my char\u00adac\u00adters start doing funky things when I lis\u00adten to acid rock. Hey, that might be a fun chap\u00adter! Is there any humor in your books?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Absolute\u00adly. I\u2019m a very sar\u00adcas\u00adtic, play\u00adful per\u00adson. I couldn\u2019t imag\u00adine writ\u00ading char\u00adac\u00adters lack\u00ading a sense of humor.<\/p>\n

Does your fam\u00adi\u00adly know what you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes. My hus\u00adband is very sup\u00adport\u00adive of me. He even helps me when I\u2019m stuck on an idea. My daugh\u00adters are both still young enough (12 and 8 ) that they real\u00adly don\u2019t care what I do as long as din\u00adner is cooked and they have clean clothes. J<\/p>\n

Well that\u2019s handy, your own live-in cri\u00adtique part\u00adner! He prob\u00ada\u00adbly appre\u00adci\u00adates that you don\u2019t write frou frou romances, huh? \ud83d\ude42 What\u2019s your favorite genre to write?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My favorite genre to write is para\u00adnor\u00admal. I\u2019ve always loved any\u00adthing to do with the paranormal\/supernatural. When I start\u00aded writ\u00ading my first para\u00adnor\u00admal, it just came to me nat\u00adu\u00adral\u00adly. My favorite genre to read is a toss up between his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal and paranormal.<\/p>\n

I read just about every\u00adthing, but I admire you para\u00adnor\u00admal authors. I don\u2019t think I could write one con\u00advinc\u00ading\u00adly. Is there a genre you\u2019d love to be able to write, but don\u2019t think you can pull it off?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vic\u00adto\u00adri\u00adan and High\u00adland his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcals. I love read\u00ading these books, but there\u2019s no way I could ever write one.<\/p>\n

Oh yeah, me either. Way too much research lol. Which of your main char\u00adac\u00adters do you think is most like you?\u00c2 <\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a>Most like me? I\u2019d have to say Tina James from Killer Kiss\u00ades. She\u2019s sassy, sar\u00adcas\u00adtic, doesn\u2019t take crap from any\u00adone, is total\u00adly open-mind\u00aded, but still has a soft heart. I think my fam\u00adi\u00adly would agree.<\/p>\n
