Juan had been kneel\u00ading on the hard\u00adwood stage for about an hour, and his kneecaps were throb\u00adbing. Car\u00adlie\u2019s sigh was not only audi\u00adble, but her slump\u00ading shoul\u00adders clear\u00adly showed her frustration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Juan ground his molars togeth\u00ader. He rolled back onto his knees, and picked up the fake rose. The obnox\u00adious bell rang, along with Frank\u2019s bel\u00adlow for qui\u00adet on the set. Juan looked up at Car\u00adlie, hop\u00ading his con\u00adtrite face con\u00adveyed his apology.<\/span><\/p>\n

She smiled, a sweet under\u00adstand\u00ading grin, and leaned down to whis\u00adper in his ear. \u201cGet it right this time, and I\u2019ll show you the silky red ted\u00addy I bought for our date on Valen\u00adtine\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
