As soon as I saw this pic\u00adture, I saw the fol\u00adlow\u00ading scene. It\u2019s pret\u00adty obvi\u00adous, so I won\u2019t be sur\u00adprised if it\u2019s dupli\u00adcat\u00aded by anoth\u00ader blog\u00adger today. Still, here\u2019s my version:<\/p>\n

Cindy glared at her broth\u00ader and his fianc\u00c3\u00a9e. \u201cWould you two knock it off? If Greg and I are going to hook up, it cer\u00adtain\u00adly won\u2019t be with you around.\u201d The man in ques\u00adtion had leaned over the bar to order anoth\u00ader beer. Camil\u00adla and Car\u00adson had been play\u00ading match\u00admak\u00aders for months. They\u2019d final\u00adly man\u00adaged to get Cindy and Camil\u00adla\u2019s broth\u00ader Greg in the same place at the same time. From the begin\u00adning of the New Years par\u00adty, they\u2019d been push\u00ading their sib\u00adlings into con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adtion, and even using the open bar as a tongue-loosener. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>You have to admit, Cin, the guy is per\u00adfect for you.\u201d Greg poured anoth\u00ader glass of cham\u00adpagne for Camil\u00adla before emp\u00adty\u00ading the bot\u00adtle into his own glass. \u201cHell, you two haven\u2019t stopped talk\u00ading since the par\u00adty started.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Cindy watched Greg, and more specif\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly, the brunette at the bar that inched clos\u00ader as Greg wait\u00aded for his drink. \u201cYeah, he\u2019s a good guy.\u201d <\/span>And cute. And both men\u00adtal\u00adly and finan\u00adcial\u00adly sta\u00adble. And inter\u00adest\u00ading. And he smelled good\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>I can vouch for him,\u201d Camil\u00adla winked. \u201cAs a mat\u00adter of fact, I can give you some great dirt about his for\u00adma\u00adtive years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Cindy fid\u00addled with her plas\u00adtic orange arm\u00adband. She would nev\u00ader admit to either Car\u00adson or Camil\u00adla that she\u2019d been attract\u00aded to Greg since they met at their sib\u00adlings\u2019 engage\u00adment par\u00adty last sum\u00admer. She\u2019d even awoke from a few dreams star\u00adring Greg. The fact that they\u2019d final\u00adly con\u00adnect\u00aded dur\u00ading this New Year\u2019s par\u00adty was only giv\u00ading her more hope.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>You\u2019d bet\u00adter get anoth\u00ader drink. They\u2019re about to count down to mid\u00adnight.\u201d Car\u00adson shoved her toward the bar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cindy went along with the ruse, because she secret\u00adly want\u00aded to wedge her\u00adself between Greg \u00c2 and the brunette.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Good luck get\u00adting a drink,\u201d Greg leaned over to speak direct\u00adly into her ear, though the bar was\u00adn\u2019t loud enough to war\u00adrant it. \u201cThey\u2019re pret\u00adty busy.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Ten\u2026nine.\u2026eight\u2026\u201d The entire bar start\u00aded to chant. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Oh no!\u201d Cindy cov\u00adered her mouth in mock sur\u00adprise. \u201cBut I have to have a drink for the toast. How else can I bring in the new year?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>\u2026five\u2026four\u2026three\u2026two\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>How about this?\u201d Greg spun her into his arms and cov\u00adered her sur\u00adprised mouth with his. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cindy slipped her arms around his back and opened her mouth to his maraud\u00ading tongue, and she<\/span> bare\u00adly heard the crowd shout\u00ading, \u201cHap\u00adpy New Year!\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
