Well, I made it. Before the con\u00adfer\u00adence even start\u00aded, I want\u00aded to turn around and go home. It start\u00aded with a car acci\u00addent that killed two peo\u00adple unknown to me, then con\u00adtin\u00adued with a snow\u00adstorm that made my dri\u00adve scary, a sick dog\u00c2 (not mine), a pokey hotel shut\u00adtle bus which caused me\u00c2 to be re-sched\u00aduled three hours lat\u00ader, main\u00adte\u00adnance issues on the sec\u00adond plane, lost lug\u00adgage, rental car place run\u00adning out of econ\u00ado\u00admy vehi\u00adcles, a painful rejec\u00adtion scowl<\/em>, then I was pulled over for speed\u00ading, and it end\u00aded with a reser\u00adva\u00adtion mix up that caused a $440 charge on my hotel. I had a pret\u00adty good cry\u00ading fit, and seri\u00adous\u00adly looked into an ear\u00adly flight home.<\/p>\n

Then I was dragged out of bed by my fel\u00adlow LSB<\/span> authors, and into the hotel bar where after one drink, I start\u00aded think\u00ading I\u2019d be able to do it. By the time morn\u00ading arrived, all was well with the world. No, I did\u00adn\u2019t drink that much! I resigned myself to for\u00adget what dragged me down, and focused on enjoy\u00ading the con\u00adfer\u00adence. I attend\u00aded a pletho\u00adra of work\u00adshops, most of them about sus\u00adpense in romance.<\/p>\n

Attend\u00aded\u00c2 a Faery Ball sans cos\u00adtume, a Cave\u00adman Mix\u00ader sans red dress, a Vam\u00adpire Ball sans fangs, and a mad hat\u00adters par\u00adty sans hat. Maybe next time I\u2019ll be more pre\u00adpared, but I enjoyed them any\u00adway. Sat at my lit\u00adtle cor\u00adner in the book sign\u00ading are\u00adna (I was pre\u00adpared for this one at least) Gave away plen\u00adty of swag, includ\u00ading my book\u00admarks, which real\u00adly made no sense, they don\u2019t work with ebooks. I did\u00adn\u2019t tell them that though. They\u2019ll have to fig\u00adure it out themselves.<\/p>\n

The return trip was\u00adn\u2019t near\u00adly as stren\u00adu\u00adous. I took my time, and had a few days to goof off before I had to be in Philly for my flight home. I stopped in Annapo\u00adlis MD<\/span> for some his\u00adto\u00adry and scenic views. The weath\u00ader was beau\u00adti\u00adful, and I spent about half an hour just sit\u00adting on a dock lis\u00adten\u00ading to the sound of the waves.<\/p>\n

I also stopped at almost any\u00adthing scenic that was post\u00aded on the high\u00adway. I know I looked like a doo\u00adfus tourist, but I\u00c2<\/span> kept remind\u00ading myself that no one knew me! Found some great foliage here, and I wish I could\u00c2 some\u00adhow make this pic\u00adture a scratch and sniff.\u00c2 The clean air was filled with the scent of the tree bark, and flow\u00ader\u00ading ground\u00adcov\u00ader. There were crick\u00adets, birds, and a soft breeze rustling the leaves. I could have spent hours here.<\/p>\n

Once I made it back to Philly, I learned what scrap\u00adple was. Thanks, Lane for edu\u00adcat\u00ading me before I ordered it. Flew back to Den\u00adver with\u00adout a hitch (except for the guy who snored like a chain\u00adsaw on the plane). I did run into snow on the high\u00adway in Wyoming. Can you believe that folks?! Nei\u00adther can I. I\u2019m still wait\u00ading for spring.<\/p>\n
