Jon was up to some\u00adthing. All after\u00adnoon he\u2019d been skit\u00adtish. They\u2019d been eye\u00ading that Harley David\u00adson Black\u00adline motor\u00adcy\u00adcle in the show\u00adroom, but until stu\u00addent loans were paid off, there was no way they could afford it. If he went ahead and bought that thing\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>You sure you don\u2019t want a soda?\u201d<\/p>\n

Kendra shook her head. If any\u00adone need\u00aded a drink, it was Jon. He was sweat\u00ading, and had to release the top two but\u00adtons on his shirt.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>I don\u2019t want any\u00adthing. Thank you though. Are you sure every\u00adthing\u2019s okay?\u201d She gripped his hand and they wend\u00aded through the throngs of the Farm\u00aders Mar\u00adket traffic.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Every\u00adthing is fine. Sor\u00adry. I\u2019m just\u2026uh\u2026thinking about stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stuff. Some kind of \u201cstuff\u201d that had a Twin\u00adCam 103 engine, tour\u00ading pack\u00adage, and a leather seat. Kendra sighed. She did\u00adn\u2019t want to think about it. Maybe next year.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Peach\u00ades? You love peach\u00ades.\u201d Jon let go of her hand, and while she wiped the sweat from her palm, Jon threw the fruit in a brown bag.<\/p>\n

Kendra said noth\u00ading, as he paid for the peach\u00ades, and grabbed her hand again. What did it say about their rela\u00adtion\u00adship that he felt he had to hide things from her? If he real\u00adly could find a way to afford the Black\u00adline would\u00adn\u2019t he have dis\u00adcussed it with her?<\/p>\n

She chewed her lip. She loved Jon with all her heart. She could\u00adn\u2019t imag\u00adine Jon doing any\u00adthing that would change that. Even if he did blow their sav\u00adings on a motor\u00adcy\u00adcle. A beautiful\u2026custom made\u2026Blackline Harley Davidson.<\/p>\n

But to hide it from her? To buy it with\u00adout her there? Know\u00ading how much she dreamed about dri\u00adving that bad boy off the lot?<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Now you\u2019re qui\u00adet.\u201d Jon nudged her.<\/p>\n

She nudged him back. \u201cNow you got me think\u00ading about stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Good stuff, I hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Only if your stuff is good.\u201d<\/p>\n

They\u2019d stopped in front of a wood\u00aden cart with fra\u00adgrant cut flow\u00aders. Jon tossed a bill at the woman beneath the umbrel\u00adla. \u201cMy stuff is so good it makes me feel like I\u2019m a lit\u00adtle kid.\u201d He picked a rose from the bunch avail\u00adable, then reached into his pock\u00adet. \u201cIt\u2019s so good I\u2019m afraid that I\u2019m going to mess it all up if I don\u2019t say the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kendra shook her head, aware of the small crowd that was form\u00ading around them. \u201cWhat\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>I\u2019ve been sav\u00ading up for almost a year for a ring, but I looked all over the place, and could\u00adn\u2019t find one that was beau\u00adti\u00adful enough for your fin\u00adger.\u201d Jon dropped onto one knee, and offered the rose. I hope you don\u2019t mind this untra\u00addi\u00adtion\u00adal offering.\u201d<\/p>\n

As she accept\u00aded the rose, he showed her the keyring he\u2019d hid\u00adden in his hand. Black leather, with the famil\u00adiar orange design tooled on both sides. The key glit\u00adter\u00ading in the sun\u00adshine could only fit one machine.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Kendra, will you mar\u00adry me?\u201d<\/p>\n

She nod\u00added a few times before she found her voice to answer, \u201cYes!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
